Salt Lake City, UT (March 5, 2024) Last week, 4Life President and CEO and Direct Selling Association (DSA) Chairman Danny Lee visited the White House with a coalition of direct selling executives.
The day began with a CEO Congressional briefing at the United States Senate Office Building. Attendees heard from United States Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Markwayne Mullin (ROK), and Mike Lee (R-UT).
In addition, the direct selling coalition was received by Liana Guerra, Chief of Staff to Congressional Direct Selling Caucus Co-Chair Darren Soto (D-FL); Leighton Huch, Policy Director, New Democrat Coalition; Kevin McDermott, Labor Policy Director, House Education and Workforce Committee (Minority); Kevin O’Keefe, Professional Staff Member and member of the House Education and Workforce Committee (Majority); and Rebekah Armstrong, Senior Advisor, Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (Minority).
Shaklee Corporation CEO and World Federation of Direct Selling Association (WFDSA) Chairman Roger Barnett hosted lunch with special guests from leadership of the United States Postal Service.
The White House Direct Selling Association briefing was held at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House Campus. The Honorable Stephen Benjamin, Senior Advisor to President Joe Biden, welcomed the coalition. Thereafter, DSA Chairman Danny Lee and DSA President Joe Mariano made their remarks about the importance of direct selling to the nation’s economy and family households throughout the country.
The Honorable Jared Bernstein, Chair, Council of Economic Advisers and Member of the President’s Cabinet, fielded questions from the coaltion. Sarah Beran, National Security Council Senior Director for China and Taiwan Affairs, addressed socioeconomic issues in Southeast Asia. Finally, the group heard closing remarks from The Honorable Jared Bernstein, Chairman, National Council of Economic Advisers.
